KYM is, to my knowledge, evasive of racially charged memes, so I don't think they would feature this
It was in full use during GamerGate, which happened around the same time. I remember because Reddit got offended by it.
I'm sure it was one of those things used in threads about black crime, and didn't really turn into a meme until Ferguson.
