Visiting burgerland this summer for one month.
Which 4 or 5 states should I check out?

So far I'm attracted to wyoming, arizona, colorado and montana. I'm attracted to nature, rural environments. What do you think? Also, money's not a problem

The USA is not like Europe. You don't pick and choose a bunch of states from the entire fifty. If you're gonna visit, you need to pick a region. I would suggest the southwest. Seriously, trying to go from Arizona to Montana is a day's travel in itself.
>>
Your list is pretty good, but I'd also try to visit California and Oregon. Just stay away from the big cities.

I'm from the East coast and I think there's good stuff to see in any part of the country. Much more than you could possibly see in a month. But if I had to chose any one place to start, I would chose somewhere out West.

There's a lot of basically nothing in the Midwest, and I think it's more relevant if you want to take a nice long roadtrip.
>>
>>74976254
Northern Arizona for sure.

Stay away from Phoenix, it is full of spics and far from nature.

Go around Payson or Flagstaff. It's fantastic over there.

One of the most singularly beautiful things I've ever seen was watching the sun rise as I was driving through western Wyoming. As if the colors and shapes of the landscape aren't pretty enough on their own, the color of the sunrise and the steep shadows took it over the top.

For sites you should hit up Tallahassee and Jacksonville. Pensacola is where my dad is from if you want to get a feel for what Alabama is like. If you want to party in cities then go to Miami, our most awesome place for beaches is Key West of you want to try out a Florida beach for fun. Orlando has Disney world but that shit is expensive and your better off going to Tampa for Bush Gardesns.

On the East Coast, Pennsylvania and UPSTATE NY are very nice. I live in Pennsylvania, your best bet around the east coast is to stick to the Appalacians. The Appalachians are the best in Rural New England if you want true nature, and Pennsylvania, if you want to feel like you're in a rural area, while still having access to all the materials and activities you could ever need. The Pocono Mountains of PA are a nice spot, you get lots of ski resorts, stores, restaurants, hunting grounds and casinos, that are still surrounded by almost uninterrupted woodland and mountains. You're also under an hour from the beautiful beaches of New Jersey. The only dowside is the people. A lot of self important faggots from New York have their second homes around here, however, that's unimportant unless you want to live, not visit, here.
>>
Im just waiting for some faggot from the East Coast to tell me how their tiny rolling hills are big mountains

Thanks. September is always a great month for vacations. 90% less people than in august and the weather is actually bearable. At least here in Portugal, I'm assuming it's the same there

My experience traveling across the south of Texas was long stretches of highway in beautiful open country that was fenced off on either side of the road for hundreds of miles, and the roadsides themselves were strewn with thousands of beer bottles/diapers/trash bags. Austin was full of homeless people, and was too busy a city for my tastes but your mileage may vary. Saw a cool crater on the west side of the state though, but not much compared to the huge-ass Meteor Crater.

Picture indicative of a typical Upper Michigan evening with friends, much of the area is open woodlands with small hidden lakes and streams everywhere, crisscrossed for miles by trails built on deer and indian paths, even our older highways are based on old indian routes and there are some neat settler remnants like Fayette. Locals are directly descended enough from Norwegian/Swede/German immigrants for the older cultures to still shine through aged residents who can recount stories such as being born in hand-built cabins in the woods, or not having electricity in early childhood.
It's a unique sort of charm a lot of people would be quick to write off as 'white trash', but it's worth seeing, though I admit my hometeam bias.

The problems of poverty make keeping those ties difficult, especially as the area has seen a multi-generational flight of young people coming of age and moving abroad. Not sure of the statistics, but I generally see a lot of older to middle-age people, and the younger people in my general demographic seem to be just barely surviving, hanging on by being with family who have roots. Hope is not lost though, we're still a very "everyone knows everyone" kind of place and haven't been cut off from one another culturally.

>>74982124
All true, worst wildlife are the deer and only because they never stop crossing the fucking roads at night. Top of the peninsula gets fairly nasty snow in the deep winter, but it's dealt with as it comes and it's hard to complain about not having hurricanes/tornadoes(mostly)/earthquakes/ect.

If you hit 5 states, I encourage 4 of them to be out west.

>HOWEVER

That's not getting the full American tour. You need to hit up some place east of the Mississippi River. I recommend the shit out of Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee and North Carolina. I'm going to Maine for the first time this summer, so I would recommend that too. The western US is amazing but it's only half of the country. You should experience the Eastern portion too.

The Southwest is paradise for outdoor people. The must-sees are in Arizona, Southern Utah, and maybe parts of California. Stick to the National Parks/Monuments and plan about 3-5 days for each. Also, you can't go wrong with spending a few days at some state parks, particularly the ones in S. Utah.

Pic related is Cedar Breaks National Monument in Utah, about an hour north of Zion.
