A couple days ago I was accepted for a Goldman Sachs internship. I applied just because of how difficult it was, and wanted to see if I could get in. I was planning on interning at a major national laboratory this summer.
I have never actually had an interest in a career in finance, I have always wanted to be inventor and scientist. I was thinking though, because how Goldman internships means basically a guaranteed job with them, if I should accept the offer, make a bunch of money, then use that money to fund my experiments and studies. I could also get inside look of how Goldman actually works.
Should I do that? Is working for Goldman degenerate?

The internship will go well, but working for GS sucks. You're expected to work insane amounts of hours just to be even remotely competitive. If you can't compete, you're out. It's one of the most cutthroat jobs you can get.
I'd recommend you get an internship at a company that matches your passion, and works in the field which you would like to be.
Have you considered using it as an opportunity to infiltrate the organization and attempt to take it down, either by bomb or subterfuge?
