Honestly, even putting their views aside, I though it was really lacking. They made it far more "cinematic" than the previous games. They cut down the number of gunfights and set piece action sequences and there are quite a few areas in the game that can almost be described as "a walking (or climbing) simulator".
I've really hated the direction that they started going in ever since Druckmann took over and I think 4 may be the last game I ever buy from them, unless they go back to being how they were before (which isn't going to happen).

I've noticed a pattern in the way they force feminism and minorities into movies and gaming. Obviously, having a female or minority main character is a risk, and might hurt sales. So what they do is that they use popular, established franchises, that are going to sell well regardless of what they do. So they put in female or minority characters in secondary roles, or try to build them up for future sequels. Uncharted 4 is a good example, because it's a wildly popular franchise. They knew people were going to buy it, so it was safe to put this bitch in. They also gave the protagonist a daughter, thereby setting up a sequel that could have a female protagonist.
It's also evident in Star Wars. They knew it was going to be a huge box office success, because they got the original cast to come back. It doesn't matter how bad it is, because Han Solo's prominent role alone would be enough to carry the movie. This gave them the opportunity to introduce female and black protagonists, and build them up for future movies. Without the original cast, I seriously doubt they would have gone with a woman and a black man as the heroes, as they simply wouldn't have been able to carry the movie.
