Most people voting for the $15/hour hike are likely paid shills by corporations. Follow the money and you'll see where their views come from. Anyone that understands economics knows that the more you pay your workers means the less you can have working for you. Businesses center around profits meaning if the cost of employees goes up they either raise their prices, hire less people, or phase out workforce with technology. Self-checkout kiosks and redbox are examples where we have phased out the human element from certain parts of business.

Raising the minimum wage does nothing to the big businesses that can roll out automatic infrastructure. This actually will destroy jobs and raise unemployment. This fucks every low end brick and mortar stores. Most of them won't be able to afford to pay the employees that $15 / hour wage.

Not to mention this is already happening at most super markets and stores. You will see 12 aisles but only 4 out of 12 working at any given time. Maybe five during peak busy hours at best. And all the automatic check-outs are always open. And don't give me that "old and dumb people will complain about them." I have seen all types of people use these very easily. If someone is super special these things beep for one of the cashiers to come over and they help them check out anyway.In 10 years I bet this will be more common. Meaning only 2 out of 10 aisles will be working since everything is super automated at this point.

I was a car salesman in Chicago for a few years and had to run people's credit. Independent owners made like 35 to 50 grand a year (this was a few years ago). These were very popular restaurants too. They have to put most of their money back into the business and their profit margins are tiny compared to other businesses.

I wish that was the case around here. The Giant Eagle has anal employees and police due to that shit being abused. It's still possible but difficult. Best time to do that is the very morning or just before closing. The police that hang out don't even give two shit's at all. They come in. Be lazy, get something at the cafe, then leave.

Sidenote: I only ripped off machines when I was working and living in North Dakota because I was getting ripped off majorly by the price gouging up there.
