the 50/50 comes from the state television who decided to calculate some of the mailvotes in even though they havent been counted yet.
As long as VdB doesn't get something like more than 60~% of the mail in votes Hofer wins.

Because the SORA prognosis contains an educated guess of the outcome of the postal vote. Bullshit, you say? Might be, but the postal votes have always been in favour of the Greens, mostly because those votes are cast by about 500k Austrians living abroad, such as myself. They are usually educated, have a university degree and are generally well-off career wise. VdB needs 158k more votes than Hofer from the remaining postal votes, and the SORA prognosis estimates that that's about the result.
All in all, it will be quite close, and the difference in the end will be a few thousand votes.

This makes we want to switch to a US style presidential voting system: where the states/Bundesländer have equal voting power. This way, all the soon-to-be-presidents have to do, is pander to the big cities. That's like 75% of their work.
If every Bundesland, except for fucking Vienna which is 50% cucks and 50% shitskins and Vorarlberg, which is almost not even Austria, votes Hofer and fucking VdB wins, then the system is fucked.
