I think it was the constantly pushed flawed narrative that blacks are systemically disadvantaged from progressing to a higher class and status in society. The other thing would be the view of slavery and how I used it as ultimate handicap/excuse for black people. I think that people in their youth are naturally more optimistic. As such, they think that there's still a chance that the world can be made good and just. As they get older and gain experience, they begin to see that the world isn't a just place and never will be.
This forces them to begin to think more critically, which of course leaves less room for making concessions to implacable leftist ideals.

To add to that, the other factor that reinforced my newly held beliefs was getting a job. Once you see that the globalist/liberal/socialist mindset will make it a bit more difficult to get into middle class and eventually make it harder to raise a well adjusted family then you change your priorities.
