California is about to pass some of the most ANTI GUN laws ever.

>background checks for ammo
>felony if you let your friend shoot your gun
>80% lowers illegal
>all semi auto rifles with detachable magazines are illegal
>bullet button banned

tl;dr

California turned the RUGER 10/22 into an assault rifle.

>a bunch of unenforceable laws

good. the more people break the law, the less they respect the government. after a certain point, the government loses legitimacy entirely
>>
>>74668852
It's not good. It basically makes it impossible to go to the range now and you can't buy ammo online either.

Now that they have an AMMO REGISTRY, door to door gun confiscation seems only a few months ahead
>>
>>74668633
Good. The thing about massive overreach and banning of common weapons is that it practically begs for a challenge.
>>
>>74669106
I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.
>>
>>74669106
Good.

Next all you need is door to door removal of the communists and Jews and you're all set.

If Cuckifornians allow this to happen without spilling blood you deserve the Government you get.

Also registered assault weapons have laws related to their transport and storage. Also they can never be transferred to anybody. When you die they cant even be passed down. They have to be destroyed.

What happens if someone decides to just not register and wait it out until the smoke has cleared?

>>
>>74670996
strictly from a historical perspective, states have a very hard time making crimes into felonies. it will 100% absolutely be challenged if the bill is passed making a new felony.

that said, this is hilarious and i hope it passes
>>
>>74670895

Uh yeah, you should have been banned. You just admitted that you started a thread by trolling. Believe it or not, other boards like /k/ aren't the same cesspools that /pol/ and /b/ are. You have to actually have some level of civility or discourse on those boards. Starting a thread with "LOL FUCKING KEKED ROFLFFFLFLL" is going to get you banned on most boards.

Do everyone else a favor and never leave this board again.
>>
>Also they can never be transferred to anybody. When you die they cant even be passed down. They have to be destroyed.

how is this allowed? I mean I'm all for states' rights and whatever, but that's a direct affront to an amendment on the Bill of Rights.
>>
>>74671089
Its not just serial numbers. If I bought an AR in California last month and never registered it, how can they force me to register it? How do they know I have it? Its not like the state gets and address, name, and serial number with every sale...
>>
>>74671195
If you bought a rifle within the last few years they required that you registered them. If it was a gun with a detachable mag they would know.

But yes there are a huge number of guns bought before that date that are unregistered. There is no way for them to know. This is nothing but bullshit legislation.
>>
>>74671297

Youre making the mistake of assuming sunjective wants are a good marker of ownership regulation such that what you want should be legal. I disagree on the notion that i might want a lot of things that shouldnt be legal.
A better metric is the question "why do you need it?" As ive said before I understand the practicality of handguns and hunting rifles but why ar's?

Brown isn't likely to pass any of these laws. If any do make it through. They will get struck down in the courts with in a few years.

You don't have to worry too much, until Lt Governor Newsom gets elected to be governor. Then he will go full retard and try to turn California in UK or Australia. Which will end up in the courts and California will fight it all the way to the SCOTUS. Which depending on who wins the presidency and the judge they pick, could go bad. Though it isn't likely. Heller v DC isn't likely to get reversed by any SCOTUS with in our lifetime. So they will tell California to go fuck them selves. Which point Newsom will cook up another batch of gun laws and try again.

The usual break action shotguns are available here, as well as semi auto shotguns (I think).

They have to be locked up in a safe though, if somebody breaks into your home and you shoot them, you will most likely go to jail for something ridiculous like not having the gun safely stored.

>>
>>74672737
Like if that's what you want to use it for, sure; no skin off my nose.

Typically, if you want to look at what a gun is genuinely good at, ARs are really not what you're looking for.

So, when it comes to a firearm, there is an eternal trade off between size, navigability, lethality, and usability. For instance, ARs are the middle child between a battle rifle and a submachine gun; effective at farther ranges than a submachine gun, better at close ranges and at higher rates of fire than a battle rifle. So, if your home defense is shooting well armed persons up to 300 yards, you're golden.

If you're at home, the most navigable(usable in close range) firearm you can own will be a pistol, but pistols are not particularly accurate , easy to use, or lethal. I suppose you could also buy a submachine gun if you like for a slightly more usable gun. If you generally want to kill someone with the least amount of training ~25 yards, you'd be better off with the shortest shotgun you can buy.

>Why do you need ARs?

To fight soldiers.

so, when crack was a huge problem, liberal lawmakers pushed bill clinton to do something, he made stricter laws against crack, black people get "mass incarcerated" and now we remember that as racism

these legslations seem pretty avoidable if you are a resonsible gun owner (shooting at ranges or in secluded areas, seems like no one would hassle you about this shit too much) but the black kids who are shooting each other up in the streets will be constantly victims of this kind of legislation, and i can only assume will be mass incarcerated.

>>

No, you're trying to use invalid arguments to say that somehow a weapon that shoots the same caliber is more deadly than another because of it's design, regardless of the fact that beyond the frame they're exactly the same. You're no better than the gun grabbers who, in front of everyone in the Senate, referred to magazines over 10 rounds as "mega magazines" and even implied that a magazine itself was an assault weapon.

You disgust me. You don't need you point provoked, we all get it, and it's invalid. You don't use facts, you use feelings.

Yes there are. An assault rifle is a select-fire rifle chambered in an intermediate cartridge. This has been the case since long before people started trying to ban guns in the US.

Assault Weapon, on the other hand, is an arbitrary legal designation.

the only reason a rebellion would work is that the rebellion was backed by another country. In fact, putting international politics into account, its very likely allies will be helping the current regime subdue the insurgency. Vietcong won because they were backed by communist countries. American colonials won because they were backed by france.
This would play out like the civil war. A malsupplied and low tech army getting trampled by a clearer superior fighting force with infinitely better tech, training, and logistics

>>
>>74671266

Doesn't matter.

Our nation's capital outright banned guns that were not grandfathered. It stood for decades until struck down of over constitutional reasons.

>I don't love criminals

But you are, if you're advocating gun control laws. If you're being a Devil's Advocate than your persona does, too.

Gun control laws have been moving the goalposts for decades, from fully-automatic rifles to even fucking handguns. Now they're going after ammunition.

The only people who will actually be affected by any of these are law abiding citizens. Violent criminals already ignore the law, why the fuck do you think imposing laws that neuter the law abiding citizen's right to life and pursuit of happiness is a proper response?

Gun control is anti-citizen, and every argument made for it that isn't "So the government has better control over its citizens through fear of criminal elements" is malevolently disingenuous.

Show me where I said shooting ANY gun inside a house is safe. The point of shooting a gun inside a house is to kill someone, and is by definition not safe.
