That's not accurate at all, considering your leader is pro-EU and doesn't want Britain to leave.
Which is really odd to me actually, America is all about freedom, but within the EU countries have little say in deciding their own laws, can't be rid of EU laws they don't like, and can't replace EU politicians if they don't like them.
It's the absolute antithesis of what the leader of America should want for a country.

>>74572293
jesus. what the fuck is she thinking?
There really is no dilemma. Trump isn't a conservative or a republican.
If the republican party nominates him, then it's the end of any conservative partnership in the republican party. Conservatives should abandon it and should support candidates on an individual basis and not along party lines. Trump being the nominee means the party has abandoned conservative principles and ideas and therefore has abandoned conservatives. I'll be voting third party.

I will never vote for Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a thin skinned, narcissistic vulgarian. He's a bully, a whiner and a coward. I've often criticized Obama for being an egomaniac, a demagogue and a tyrant. I refuse to turn around and vote for one on "my" side.
There are three main reasons specifically why I refuse to vote for Trump besides his personality. First, its because a Donald Trump victory in the general means the death of the American conservative movement. It will smash the Reagan coalition and turn the GOP into a populist, nationalist, big government party like the European right. The American right, the right that believes in the principle of small government is the greatest governing philosophy on earth and its almost the only one of its kind. And I refuse to sacrifice that on the alter of Trump.
Second, I cannot support a candidate that opposes free trade. Not only does that go against my free market philosophy, but it's also economically stupid. Free trade is something I wholeheartedly agree with and will defend completely.
Third and finally, Trump is faking Christianity to woo Evangelicals. And this pisses me off. Trump is not a Christian and every time he acts like he is, it angers me. He is using his "Christianity" as a cloak that he has on to get elected, but his life is a mockery of Christianity. As a Christian first and foremost, I cannot in good conscience votes for a man that is so clearly using my faith for personal gain.
If the choice comes down to Hillary or Donald, I will vote third party. If no conservatives actually run, I will vote for Andrew WK in the Party Party.
>>74572342

>>74572498
As a Cruz supporter and one of the #NeverTrump crowd, I would not back Trump in a general election against Hillary or Bernie. Why? Because as a conservative, preserving conservatism is far more important than winning an election for a 4 year term. Trump is not conservative in my mind and I think it would be very difficult to argue that he is conservative. He has donated quite a bit to liberal organizations such as the Clintons and only within the last year or so switched his positions around to appeal to the alt-right. Conservatives are not anti-free trade, which is what Trump is saying by placing very large "tariffs" on American companies who make their products outside the US. I recommend looking into Ben Shapiro's writings on why he is #NeverTrump if you have not already and that will fill in what I may be missing in my argument. My point is that I would rather lose 4 years to an awful progressive/socialist president than destroy conservatism by electing a populist demagogue with no consistent policies except "build a wall" and "stop free trade".
>>74572494
>yet
>>74572521
>>74572492
Yes, for two reasons.
1) If we're going to have someone hostile to conservatism in office I'd rather it be someone the Republican party would unanimously oppose and thus could hold to some degree of accountability.
The country is fucked either way I'd rather the Democrats get the blame for it
2) Trump is dangerously incompetent in a way that Hillary whatever her very many and very serious flaws isn't.

Yes, I cannot vote for and be part of Donald Trump becoming President. Not only is his personality the exact opposite of presidential, with his thin skin and childish attacks at opponents, but he's not a Conservative. Sure, he's learned to parrot a few Conservative-sounding cliches and has suddenly and magically adopted some positions that Conservatives can support, but it all comes off as a Liberal pretending to be a Conservative. I see little difference between how Trump actually acts and how Alec Baldwin acts when portraying Jach Donaghy from 30 Rock.
If it comes down to Trump vs. Hilldebeast/Comrade Sanders, I'll write in Rand Paul or just abstain from voting for the President and simply support local and State politicians. And yes, I realize that means that there is a greater chance that Hill or Bern will be our next President.
But if a Liberal is the next President and it's a disaster (it will be a disaster), it will be unquestioningly a Democrat disaster. Obama skirted by blaming Bush for every problem with his administration, but Hill and Bern won't have that luxury. Even if they blame Obama, it will be the Left eating its own. But hopefully, it will only last one term and we might get a huge swing in favor of the GOP.
But if Trump, pretending to be a Conservative, is elected and it's a disaster (and it will be a disaster), all the blame will be on Conservatism and the Republican Party. Trump will do to the GOP what Jimmy Carter did to the DNC before Reagan or what Arnold Schwarzenegger did in California to make Jerry Brown look like a viable candidate.
So in the short-term, it's going to suck, but there is more hope that America will learn that Establishment Liberalism or Social Democracy is an unworkable philosophy if either Hill or Bern gets into power. If Trump wins, it will guarantee Democrat control of the WH and probably Congress for the next 8-12 years.

You must've hated Reagan then
I used to support Donald Trump to be elected president, however my support has now shifted towards Cruz. This has nothing to do with how I feel about Trump, in fact I still think he is a great candidate, however because of the massive public disapproval of him from both the general public and even Republicans who desperately want to stop him, I can no longer support someone who will not bring the party together. I'm voting Republican regardless of who gets the nomination, and I think every conservative should too because the Republicans NEED a win here. So no matter who the GOP candidate is, I encourage everyone to throw their support towards them because at least they represent the political party that I strongly stand behind.

>>74572661
Not long. Quicker if people report instead of ignoring it.
>>74572690
The way I see it, if Trump wins the nomination, the race is over. I won't choose between the lesser of two evils. I'm not entirely sure which would be the lesser evil.
That's why I support Cruz. I want a principled conservative who will take steps to shrink the Federal Government, not grow it.
There was a period where I was willing to vote for Trump and unite behind his campaign to ensure we don't lose the Court, but the last month Trump lost me completely. The attacks on Cruz's family, the immaturity, the rants, the attacks on the reporter, the ineptitude, the contradictions on policy positions, etc, have completely turned me off of Trump's campaign. Trump did this himself. Every time he goes on an interview and says something about "lying Ted," whines about how he's a victim, or says something stupid about social issues he doesn't understand, I feel that my decision was vindicated.
I am looking beyond just this election to the state and congressional elections looming. Should Trump win and be the failure he is appearing to be, he could set back the conservative movement. It's obvious that many independents, democrats, and republicans think of Trump as a conservative whether he is or not.
Is the minionposter being paid or is he just severely autistic?

In some ways, Hillary as president is much better than Trump as president. 1. We have no idea what he would do, whereas we know exactly what Hillary will do (and she will move to the center after she locks up the nomination). 2. It would give us another 4 years to regroup and try again, assuming Trump is not running again as a 74 year old. 3. It would foster an environment that would allow Republicans to also make up for the losses in the House and Senate that occurred as a result of Trump being at the top of the ticket. The main bad thing is that the Supreme Court is gone for a generation, and I understand that is more important than all other points combined, but I honestly think Hillary is much less liberal than Obama so the appointments wouldn't be as bad as his. The problem I have is that I just don't see Trump having any clue who the right judges are - and you never know who is influencing him.
At this point, I don't know what I would do, but you can see that I have serious apprehension about voting for Trump regardless of the alternative. Add to that the fact that Trump will likely be down in the polls by about 10-15% come Sept, Oct, Nov, and you can guarantee I'm voting 3rd party. And just to be clear, I would never vote for Hillary myself, it's just whether I'd vote for Trump instead of Libertarian.

I had a lot of issues with Trump previously. But he utterly lost any chance he had of getting my vote in a general election over the past week.
>He loses Wisconsin, and blames it on a vast government conspiracy, and accuses Cruz of election fraud.
>He fails to put any effort into Colorado, and his team likens it to the Gestapo, and then on national tv his spokeswoman repeatedly doubles down on the Gestapo comments.
>Roger Stone - who spent years as a lobbyist and advisor for Trump - starts doxxing delegates, tells them mobs are going to show up at their hotel rooms during the convention
>Death threats are sent to the head of the Colorado GoP for following the same system they've been following for 114 years.
I will NEVER support a campaign that approves of these tactics. This is the very definition of what conservatives have been fighting for years. I'm not going to suddenly like it because there's a chance it might get turned against some people on the left.

I think moderates need to work on making a strong case for Hillary in the even Trump gets the nomination. She as an individual is very flawed, but her policies are much closer to where modern Republicanism needs to be than Trump's. I don't want to have future generations look back on this election cycle and wonder why racist rednecks held the GOP back for another generation. If Republicans rose up and said to the nation "Trump doesn't stand for us, and we're going to support Hillary to prove it," I think it would go a long way towards mending wounds in the country's political arena.
Frankly there is nothing to fear in a Hillary presidency that would not be worse than having white nationalism make it into the mainstream.

No, that's the bloody point. Look at Trump and his stance on government. He's not even remotely for small government, he just wants to use it to benefit white people Americans as opposed to the Democrats who are using it to benefit minorities. And that's no better, because government is not the solution, it is the problem.
And that's made even worse given that Trump has made it very clear that he has basically looked Obama's executive overreach and gone "Well, I can just do a better job at that by hiring the right guys" when the actual, conservative ideal should be that no, it's not about hiring the right guys, it's about getting out of the way.

I would not vote Trump if he is the nominee. I have only ever voted Republican to this point in my life and have voted in every election to date. He's not equipped to be President. Also an outright ban on a specific religion isn't the correct approach even though I don't think we should be taking in any Syrian Refuges. I'll probably end up voting libertarian if he is the nominee. I currently support Rubio.

Proud Cruz supporter and "purist" here. I will either vote third party or stay home. I've done the "hold my nose and vote Republican" game for too long. If the base of our party is so utterly incompetent and idiotic that they believe in that petulant child of a man, then this party is not for me anymore. Trump is a lying blowhard that only cares about one thing: himself. He is the nastiest, most narcissistic, most whiny brat I've ever seen over 20 years old, and for some reason, people think he's somehow qualified to be President simply because he inherited a multi-billion dollar real estate business.
Fuck Donald Trump. If we're going to have a liberal president, I'd rather it be a Democrat than a Republican that can be the new "see, see, conservatism doesn't work" toy for the leftists.
>>74573111
I view Trump as a leftist in many respects. He's a statist. He's actually come out and said he agrees with Sanders on trade and wants to impose high tariffs on imports from Mexico and violate NAFTA, which would be disastrous for American importers/exporters. His whole campaign is about using government to solve your problems, which is antithetical to conservative principles. I will not be voting for him in the general. I'll vote for whoever runs for the libertarian party.

If Clinton wins, we have 4 more years of basically Obama, although she's to the right of him on foreign policy.
If Trump wins, he will destroy the conservative movement, and transform the Republican party into a big government nationalist party with no respect for individual freedom. His election will be the defeat of conservatism in America, better to lose and maintain the party's identity.

The tiny little positive I see in Clinton, is that... I really don't think she's going to do anything. She's going to lay low and just try to keep out of trouble. She certainly won't be some ultra militant nut like Obama, trying to turn the country inside out. Frankly, I just don't think she cares that much. It's all about her. With Trump, who the F knows. Complete wildcard. But then, I don't think he would be able to do much, even if he wanted to. Both sides hate him. He would be a lame duck from day one.

I'm from Louisville and let me tell you.
I'm a Democrat voting for Trump. I voted for Bernie in our Primary as practice for voting for Trump as well as to give Hillary a wake up call. I told my family and about 2 of my friends that voted for Bernie over Hillary. They were visibly upset with me, but my reasoning was that I was voting anti-establishment. They mostly responded with pretty much this:
>well at least you aren't voting for Trump. You're still a Democrat
If only they knew...
Still my county, Jefferson, was the county that gave Hillary the win in Kentucky. We voted overwhelmingly for Hillary. I haven't felt so ashamed in a long time.

Clinton is more immoral, but I think Trump would be more dangerous.
Clinton is, essentially, a third term of Obama. Bad, but we've already survived two. Plus, we could easily win in 2020 (if the GOP learns its lesson and doesn't allow another shitstorm primary).
Trump, on the other hand, would have a disastrous presidency and then give the Oval Office over to the Dems in 2020 for another eight years of awful. So with if Trump is elected we could have twenty years straight without a true conservative in office and I don't know if the country can take that, or hell, the world in general.

He's not building a wall. The President needs to use momentum from a general election as influence. All those Senators and Congressmen, who haven't built much of a solid defense along the southern border over the last fifty years this has been a problem, need extra motivation. The more momentum, as it's called, the more something normally deemed impossible becomes likely. This is why people always try to say, "the President won a mandate!"
Obama got ObamaCare through Congress because he not only trounced McCann, the Democrats won massive Congressional majorities. Trump would need something similar, or at least something much more than eking by. Unfortunately for him, about two-thirds of the Senate seats up this cycle are largely in Democrat leaning states. It's questionable whether Republicans will hold the majority, much less anything else.
Along those lines, Trump would also have to completely swing his super high negatives around and gain a huge popular following. Given how much he's been on TV over the last ten months, I'm not sure he can undo his current image easily. While prior candidates have done it, and reversed their polling positions, modern media is something new. Information is everywhere, and Trump is already well known. As stated, to get the wall built Republicans would also have to retain House and Senate majorities, another problem Trump might have difficulty with--beyond the Senate issue--if there's low voter turn out, which also ties into 50% of Republicans leaning never Trump.
NRA can suck my dick

>>74573457
>>74573439
Hold on Mr. Sarcastic. The first thing about having a reasonable, objective discussion (objective meaning something beyond political dreaming), is to stop making stupid assumptions simply because emotions.
I said building a wall. That's different than "wont get anything done." They are apples and oranges. The wall is a pretty massive project, which currently doesn't even have a lot of public support. Since there are actually fences and walls across much of it already, simply tossing down bricks and mortar isn't the issue. What needs to change is to actually secure it after it's finsihed and have the facilities and manpower to enforce it. That's the cost, and it's in no way cheap, and it's a significant project that takes a little more than some negotiating.
Also, it's not that 1/3 of the Senate is up for election. It's that of the 1/3 that's up for election, 2/3rds are Democrats who don't want a secure anything (not to mention many Republicans don't either) and some of those seats currently held by Republicans might flip back.
Also, that last sentence is a whatever. If you think the only reason people don't want to vote Trump is because they are pouting, then that's on you. It's a stupid argument angry people like to make. If Trump wants people to vote for him maybe he needs to stop acting like a jackass and going for new all time negative polling numbers. That's politics, and it takes politics to get things done. That's the whole point of my entire analysis. Trump can't go it alone, and negotiating starts with making allies. Trump has done a good job all on his own alienating people. He needs to turn all of that around if he wants massive projects, which take massive support and a change in public opinion, to actually become reality.
