The (embellishment) of the holocaust serves a lot of purposes. Mainly it saves face for the west. We went to war to help Poland. After millions of dead, Poland was not liberated. -There were a handful of extremely dodgey eyewitnesses, who claimed things like "they were gassed multiple times" "there was a rollercoaster that led live victims into a furnace" and "there was a giant electric chair that could fit a hundred people at a time".
-There were NO documents ordering the execution of Jews.
-The courts of Nuremburg operated on the premise that the holocaust happened. It was pronounced before the trials even began. The court was also 75% Jewish.
