These threads are fucking awful and you should be ashamed of yourself. I will answer your questions and dole out wisdom until get tired and go to sleep.
When will you join Canada? Some of your neighbors are mulling the idea of joining us.
>>74516736
No. Why would we want to join the land of bad "French", snow, and apologies?
We're quite content as a self governing British colony.
>>74516831
Because we can be an empire again or some gay shit. Fuck it, just join the americans. You are already niggers anyway.
Do you consider yourself and your culture British?
>>74517071
You seem upset. I'd be a ball of passive rage too if I'd been raised on French fries and gravy. You poor thing.
>>74517167
Yes. But no English/Welsh/Northern Irish and certainly not Scottish. We hold a unique identity as Bermudian which includes being British.
The first use of the word Bermudian as distinct from British goes back almost 350 years to the early years of the colony and a large portion of the island's population trace their ancestry back more than 200 years.
>>74517269
Your country is the size of my city cunt, go fuck yourself. French are 10% of this country and we killed the fuck out of them back in the day. I hardly think we are french. Quebec is brainwashed scottish people. They are a meme province.
>>74517452
Oh, sweetheart. You may think the French were killed off but at the end of the day they run your country which is why you can't go have some nice fried chicken at KFC like the rest of us in the free world.
>>74516831
We need a warm place to vacation and you can come ski here. Plus we're not real french. We don't eat stinky cheese, only poutine and drink beer instead of wine.
We don't even have to fly over the bermuda triangle to visit each other, so it's safe.
When are you going to join Canada?
>>74517585
Such a fucking faggot, I hope you get fisted by a sunny delight bottle filled with gasoline.
To think we even wanted you, so fucking salty.
What do you do for a living Bermuda bro?
>>74516736
THIS. WHY DID OUR GOVERNMENT NOT JUMP AT THE CHANCE OF TURKS AND CAICOS JOINING US?
>>74517702
Sadly the prevailing wind in the Summer is from the South so the only habitable time of the year would require aircraft to take off and fly straight into the Bermuda Triangle.
I once went skiing at Tremblant and not only was the mountain name excessively French (no doubt much to the dismay of your angry countryman) but it was also -45C which is the temperature at which Freedom Units and Metric coincide.
Also, a Canadian girl once broke my heart and I hope she chokes on a soggy french fry. God Save The Queen.
>>74517707

Maybe with the wind chill, or at the very top of the mountain. You don't go in the middle of winter to Tremblant to ski.

I only visit Canadian spots. Please join, Bermuda for Province.

He's probably a very rich, enlightened man who laughs at how silly we are. He probably knows it's true what we say but he doesn't give a shit one way or the other.
Truly a Bermudan who would post here would have a superiority complex.

Yes, I enjoy New York a great deal. It's only about a 90 minute flight.
Beautiful country, lots to do, probably my favourite single country to visit. Where do you represent, USAbro?
>>74516635
Why the fuck are so many Canadians ITT and when will they piss off?

You spelled smouldering wrong, you make the Queen cry with your American spelling.

Holy fuck this is a joke right?

Down side: small.

They're a true and loyal son of the British Empire, a colony that will continue to stand the test of time, Unlike some, they would rather follow their founder and father, than revolt.

Neither. We actually have our freedoms from domestic government oppression/surveillance and don't have the fake freedoms of the Americans... but of course that doesn't stop the NSA from reading every post I make.
We are utterly uncucked and shitskinless in the American sense.
>>74519024
Were you born in Bermuda or did you move there? White or black? You are in executive management, is it related to the finance industry there? You don't have to go into detail, i'm just curious if people native to the island go into finance/banking at a higher rate than other places

Hate EU and UN, since we're a fairly independent country with some legal connections to UK (Privy Council)

Britain turned their back on Rhodesia. Britain has no place to talk about backstabbing.
>>74518333
During the Revolutionary War the gunpowder used by the Americans to protect Boston during the British siege was stolen from the British Army by Bermudian sympathisers and smuggled to the Americans. At the time the British Governor lamented that the island was full of revolutionary sympathisers.
However as would become a habit, the Bermudians played both sides and came out ahead while staying firmly British (as would again happen during the Civil War, Prohibition, and continues today in the realm of international business).
>>74519024
>70.000 people living in Bermudas

Hey Bermuda. I love this kind of thread, specially when it's run by a good poster.
How is the bermudian economy? Is the huge influx of tourists actually beneficial for the people or does it just raise prices? You said Bermuda has some social problems; care to elaborate?
>>74522139
Hello Brazil.
Economy is just emerging from a long self-inflicted recession that was caused by poor local policymaking but coincided with the global financial crisis (sound familiar?).
Tourists make up a small portion of the total economy so there is little real impact on locals. Numerically most of our tourists come from the US on cruise ships and are probably on average poorer and with lower incomes than the the locals here.
Social problems in terms of struggling public schools, crime, drugs, etc. We also have real issues with multigenerational poverty and failing families which is a shameful problem to still have in such a wealthy country (top 5 in the world).
>>74522347
How does the bermudian economy work?
I mean, it's a small country with a small population. Where does all that wealth come from?
>>74516635
Hello, Bermuda. I'd like to know if you want to be friends. I apologize for the Chinese immigrants being so rude to you. They get carried away very easily.
>>74522678
1. International business (reinsurance).
2. Investment income from overseas investments made by local individuals/businesses.
3. Tourists.
>>74522139
Infrastructure problems (mold in buildings and the kids), roads can have tons of potholes and the public projects to fix them can have budgeting problems
Recently we have had more armed and daylight robberies, and more countries are trying to gang up and pander on the whole tax haven nonsense.
Medical services are almost all private (requiring insurance), and often you may have to go overseas for some major surgeries
Economy has migrated from tourism income (hotels are trying to fill up again of course) towards international business. This has some controversy with the locals for job preferences.
>>74522802
I could never truly trust a Canadian enough to become friends with one. It's impossible to know if the innate politeness and friendliness of a Canadian is the mark of true personal trust and friendship or simply a cultural norm.
I deal with the Chinese professionally and they are never rude and always professional.
>>74522885
Crime is down quite significantly recently and the daylight robberies are almost certainly the work of literally two guys who have figured out a quick way to make a few hundred bucks.
>>74523087
For sure. I'm hoping it stays that way too.
Wonder how long the police will take to catch the hooligans
>>74523196
They will probably magically stop when the idiots get locked up for some unrelated crime. If there's one thing about Bermuda's criminals it's that they're always the same small group of guys and they are always stupid.
>>74523003
Most people outside of Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver are quite nice (especially in the eastern provinces), but in those cities, there are normally lots of people being just rude. Chinese immigrants in BC are normally aggressive to other immigrants from what I've seen.
>>74523558
They're rude until you face them as a human being instead of an obstacle. If there's one thing above all else about Bermudian culture it's that we are able to welcome people and make them feel at ease... so perhaps this has helped me always find cities to be friendly places.
I'm going to bed.
Goodnight, I love you all.
>>74523558
What's the story behind chinese immigration to the major Canadian cities? I've been seeing more asians lately on our island than before, guess they love moving around
>>74524224
Goodnight midnight Bermuda OP
>>74524225
Most of the young chinese investors/entrepreneurs are moving to other countries to start a business or for better work. A lot of them go to Canada because we've got an economy that can be easily entered and because it's close to the US and China.
>>74524616
Not surprised, immigration here is fairly tight and obtaining full status (and voting) is nearly impossible unless you were born here with a Bermudian parent at the minimum.
I bet a lot of our canadian workers will be waiting a while to see how their currency goes before returning or converting their salaries, since our dollar is pinned to the USD
