National Socialism will never become popular in America. Socialism is something that the American left has shown to be terrible and abusive. Ethnic nationalism will also never work nor will it gain enough support or strength to take control of the country. It fucked up the Balkans, led to WW1, and garnered huge negativity in WW2. Patriotism can work in this country, so nationalism in general can likely work as well.
