Well I wouldn,t discount them that much. They may be if they stay home in places like Arizona and Texas. Both are on the brink of turning blue, they are states where Trump fared poorly with conservatives but very well with GOP moderates. If the conservatives and the Cruzlims stay home on election day, I wouldn't be surprised to see Texas edge a blue turn, galvanized by hordes of latinos and lesbians in place like Houston and the southeast. It's going to be very close but they could pull it off, most demographic analysis shows Texas turning blue eventually in 10-15 years, but because of Trump's particularities he could bring that about earlier. The flipside is that he could actually win places like Pennsylvania and Michigan where no traditional Republican would fare well at all, even (or especially) "saviors" like Marco Rubio. These places are exactly the kind of disenfranchised, mostly white, voters that form Trump's base. Middle of the road or even left on economics, but very nationalist on immigration and terrorism. Almost a mirror image of the cosmopolitan cuckservatives.
If Trump loses Texas then he's got a bit of an issue. He'll need to win Florida, New York, etc.
But I have no doubt the electoral map will be rewritten, to some extent, in 2016--by how much depends on the conservatives..
