I have never been a leftist according to Denmarks standards. Here im part of the far right nationalistic wing.

but if /pol/ were to judge me I would properly still be considered a socialist.

true, my school even had us take a mandatory course on the EU for one year, which was basically thinly veiled globalist propaganda

I spent a lot of time studying Communist/Marxist/Soviet theory in high school.

Naturally I of course matured and realised its all bullshit.
>>
In high school/my youth, I was considered center-left.

I am now far right. I was never far left.

Interestingly enough, what my beliefs were in high school would probably be considered solidly right wing now instead of center-left, because the left wing keeps moving the goalposts on how much of a Cuck you have to be to be considered lefty
>>

Yeah they do that in European countries to make us feel the EUROPEAN IDENTITY. How am I gonna feel close to your Dutch ass or a shitskin spaniards when my country is literally a muslim and mediterranean shithole. I never bought into it as a kid desu, I didn't get why they did that. Now that I do, it's even dumber.
>>
I've never changed my political ideologies. It just so happens that what people label me as has changed over time. The beliefs that would have had me labelled a leftist 20 years ago now are now considered right wing.

It's a narrative they try to push to kids because we use the same currency and are free to move between country, they want to make us feel part of the european union early, at least that's how it went in my education in France.

Of course the idea behind this is they think the union is a good thing and want to preserve it by building an identity and emotional attachment to it, because they think it's economically viable. Truth is, as you see it from the outside, no frenchman is gonna feel close to an estonian just because cheese taxes are low when merchandises are moved.

It's a thing alright, but depending on your country and system of education I suppose it's more or less important. It used to be a big thing in France when I was a kid, I suppose it was in Germany as well (?), seeing as France and Germany are always so fucking proud of the EU.

They don't push the european identity over the french identity here though, they just inform you of how great the EU is and how you're part of it when you're a kid.

Then again national identity is a huge debate in France right now, so the european thing is getting more and more sweeped.

Yes, then I grew up somewhat when I lived in a migrant infested neighborhood for a couple of years. I believe in a whole lot of stuff that are taboo among leftists, like racial differences between IQ and right to own firearms. I also believe in stuff that right-wingers are not into, like LGBT rights and equality between sexes. I guess I'm a right-leaning centrist or a traditional liberal, I don't know I hate labels.

I grew up in a part of Oslo with +50% immigrants, so naturally I became pretty liberal.

After getting a job and moving to a fairly white neighborhood I began to realize how shitty and destructive the immigrants actually were.

I still lean left on fiscal policies, but now I'm pretty fucking right-wing on social issues.
>>
Compared to my current worldview, I was fairly liberal in college, circa 2000. Never took part in activism but was quick to point out what I perceived to be bigotry. One of the first nuggets of leftist indoctrination spoon fed to freshmen was the concept of cultural relativism. This was in a cultural anthropology class that a shitload of students take for credit and an easy A. Multiple sessions every day in a packed auditorium.

I was a fucking liberal pansy in high school, then I came across the unabomber manifesto. It's description of the psychology of the left fit me perfectly. I had made a virtue out of weakness. It was the starting point of a painful realignment, but not having to struggle with all the cognitive dissonance inherent in a leftist worldview more than makes up for it. I wish I had figured it out sooner.

Now I only believe in regional governments that have very few legislative powers and robust individual freedoms.

Same here

One part about the mentality of the left says something to the effect of "they hate everything strong, good and healthy in culture." I knew it was true because I felt like he was talking about me.

Hearing it contextualized like that panted the seed of doubt about the narrative I had been mindlessly following
>>
>>74377401
you're probably baiting, but the exact opposite happened to me... I came here expecting to read only outrageous claims and racist slurs, but have been surprised to find some reasonable arguments in all the xenophobia that challenged my opinions... you know what they say: only fools don't change their mind
>>
>>74373287
I was a bit socialist in my early teens, and I guess I still think that economical socialism is good in a society with high cohesion. I skipped school to protest the Iraq war in 2003, when I was in the 7th grade, and I still don't think it was a good idea because I don't believe in interventionism.

The only thing that has really changed is that the leftist in this country aren't for workers but for welfare and it's very much about identity politics. And then there are the crazy immigration policies, but even the former "conservatives" are for them for some fucking reason. I'd probably vote left if it was the 60s.

Of course I was.
>>74373467
This is why. It's no wonder "liberals have higher IQs"
Most of us are born from a mother and father, liberals are born from schools and universities.
>>
When I was a kid I was vaguely liberal because my family and friends were.

Then in college I took a sociology class from an amazing professor, and that prompted me to look into political ideologies. I knew I was for democratic economic programs, but maximum personal freedom. The ideology that fit best with this was anarcho-syndicalism. It took me a while to think of myself as some kind of anarchist because of all the weird images I had of anarchists.
After a while of anarchism seeming nice, but ridiculous when actually thinking of how to implement it, I came around to thinking of myself as a socialist - I was still for democracy in business, fair earnings, etc.
Then I started studying international development, which is my field, and discovered that socialism never works for developing a country. It's a band aid on a gash wound, and it actually lets the bacteria in the wound fester - for a place to develop people need to earn capital, then they can demand education and better health care. So I was a capitalist in development and international economics, but for social programs in countries that could afford it. I was back at being a liberal (though for a minute I liked the term "social democrat").
Then I graduated college and took some awful, bottom-tier jobs and was miserable (what I get for going to a state school and not studying STEM). I was pretty much suicidal. I saw how little social programs had achieved and how shitty those bottom-tier protected jobs were. So now I'm pretty much a libertarian.
>>

>>
>>74373287
dude you have no idea
I used to unironically post to /r/ShitRedditSays
the one thing I'll say, that many of the other guys I talked to in those communities would secretly echo as we became more and more disillusioned, is that there was a part of us that knew we were making excuses for people who didn't deserve them, knew we were omitting basic logic and data to come to our conclusions, knew that something was incredibly off about the way these mentalities never seemed to reach the bedrock of proper reasoning.

Social justice itched to us, in a way that the women never experienced.

>>
>>74378610
That and the social sciences are made up of almost 100% socialists and if you're dishonest with social psychology it's very very easy to be able to get significant proof for anything at all. That together with the general corruption within the peer reviewing process makes those IQ claims very uncertain.

Should say that in NE UK, we're taught the tories ruined the mines.
It's glossed over that labour/unions played a huge part in it, and then entire regions, dependent on dole, were forced to vote for socialism due to the high unemployment rates created by it.
After mass immigration and huge debt, and a socialist promise to borrow far more money and not cut social programs, people finally started to see that temporary poverty was better than a lifetime of it.
>>74378851
It's no mystery why the EU so heavily taxes us in order to fund science/education/"the arts"
It takes our money and uses it against us in a propaganda battle, educating tomorrows intelligentsia with only one view of the world. Right wingers, when I was young, were routinely fired from educational positions for their views. It was no secret that they looked through right wing party membership lists and fired anybody in the police/school system signed up. To support anything right of the conservatives was career suicide.

I was.

It's hard not to be in Sweden Yes, even our right side political parties are on the left compared to even mainland Europe, let alone the US and just miles beyond anywhere else.

I think this should be encouraging for /pol/ or anyone who wonders about the usefulness about arguing about politics or spouting non-PC stuff to the winds.

You are making a change. Not because you can say something and people will believe you. But because if you consistently speak things you know to be true, some of the people you're talking to will check.
That's what I did and that's where it all began to unravel.

My real liberation came from watching the Zimmerman trial unfold in real time and comparing to the media narrative. There was just no case for the prosecution but according to the media not only was there a case, it looked like George was guilty. All the talking heads said so.

The thing about trust is that once it's broken it's really fucking hard to regain. Once you pop the insular information channels keeping you firmly in the left there's no going back.

Once you see the distortion you can't stop seeing it.
>>
>>74379762

Ive been thinking about making a shit load of this kind of thing then letting them loose on social media. The problem with this one is that it doesnt offer the red pill. Only people that are already red pilled on muslims would realize what the image is really about. I think the key is to put a small link at the bottom to a website that appears to be about straight white frat boys. But it really reveals the truth about the stats. Retard liberals and SJWs arent going to check the source most of the time. But imagine the glorious moment went someone calls them out on facebook by using the link in their own shared image. We can trick sjws into destory theirselves
