Even during winter, they are always here creating crowds and babling in their monkey languages, taking pictures of food instead of eating it. There obviously aren't vikings in Norway, but there are a lot of people with a passion for history and tradition, and you can see them everywhere. They build, restore and sail old boats, learn old trades, keep local culture, food and music alive, or find other ways to promote their culture and history.
You'll mostly see it in smaller communities around the bigger towns, where almost the entire population play a part in keeping traditions alive. Most of it is in Norwegian, though, so they don't end up like tourist traps.

I honestly don't believe we are reserved, because it depends so much on the situation. If you're among random strangers in random situations, most people aren't going to small talk. But this is generally a sign of respect, because we value other people's personal space. But the moment you have something in common, people loosen up. It also depends a lot on the person. While I'm a typical Norwegian, and don't talk to people unless I have a reason to, both my father and my brother, and some other members of my family, are hyper-extroverts. My father knows the entire town and can't go anywhere without ending up talking to someone, and my brother just seems to make friends wherever he goes. He spent a year studying in the US, and ended up hanging out with the wrestling team and playing basketball with the negro students, all while getting such good grades that he got an invitation to apply to Harvard (he was in the top 0.2%).

Iceland used to be a under the Danish crown but proclaimed independence in the aftermath of the second world war, after they had been occupied by American forces for the duration.
