When my mother came to this country, she had $100 in her pocket and no education. Now she has an education, owns numerous properties and has a very well paid job.
Such a thing is unthinkable to you and me. This problem can't be solved by raising minimum wage or any sort of socialism. The problem is, there are simply too many people. Citizens aren't valuable anymore. The elite love having a reserve of unemployed people, and masses of underpaid workers. The workers can't choose the wage they are willing to work for because it is too easy for a company to just hire someone else or outsource to a different country entirely.
Socialists ignore this fact, they claim to represent workers, but do nothing to truly protect them. They actively harm workers most of the time, in order to import more voters and increase their party power.
