It was always going to suck. Thanks to King losing his damn mind after getting run over the last 3 books completely disregarded everything compelling from the first 4. Foreshadowing that went nowhere, completely wasted characters (Patrick Danville, Flagg, Crimson King him-fucking-self), out of place early 2000 pop culture references galore, King writing himself in. Just complete shit. I waited years for the last 3 to release, read all of King's other books that were under the DT multiverse, and got robots in Dr Doom masks and golden sneetch grenades as a result. On the bright side, it taught me how to deal with disappointment and diminishing returns in pop culture.
The whole story is fucked and casting Elba, while a fine actor, is just a symptom of the story's complete decline over time. Pic related.
