I noticed the trend that with conservative groups they would rather empower a few individuals and propel them to the upper middle class. In contrast with the democrats and their shell groups who would rather get a dedicated college student vanguard and a large mass of poor people shifted into the upper poor or lower middle classes.

A wall already exists across many areas of the border between Mexico and the United States. Getting Mexico to pay for its expansion is asinine. There is no method by which we could compel Mexico to pay for such a project without incurring costs ourselves.
As much as I despise Europe for getting a free ride on defense through NATO for the last 50 years, permitting them to descend into degenerate socialistic "Utopias" completely out of touch with the Geo political reality of 21st-century earth, they are representative democracies by and large. The 20th century shows clearly that making and maintaining relationships with dictatorships is difficult and unpredictable at best. Democracies give us new personnel in positions of power with which to treat at regular intervals.
The anti-intellectual rhetoric of Trump and his followers concern me greatly. Our economic and political hegemony over the earth is contingent upon our technological superiority. There is no safety for America in isolation. We are too large and too powerful to divorce ourselves from the affairs of the world at large. At worst we wait too long and then have to entangle ourselves in a protracted foreign conflict like the world wars.
Interventionism may not be morally upright and it may be ambiguous in its goals and unsavory In its methods, but there have been no world wars in the last 70 years.
Trump and his followers lament for an America that either never existed in the first place or has not existed for the better part of the century and to return to it would cede our power and authority to lesser nations populated by lesser peoples.
