When I say that the slippery slope is real, what I mean is that being gay and being transgender are totally and completely different but people are making, and succeeding at, an effort to present them as being the same. Being gay isn't necessarily "morally wrong," although it has plenty of negative correlations (failed relationships, irresponsible sexual practices) and is objectively bad for the reproduction of a population. There are legitimate arguments to be made against normalizing it, but they were lumped into the same corner of bigotry as the illegitimate arguments. They were all smeared with the same brush. As a result, they were victorious.
With that battle won, they are continuing to use the exact same tools to defend and push forward the normalization of the transgender, which has FAR more arguments against it, many scientifically backed, by making the false claim that "they are the same." They are not the same! Gender dysphoria is a legitimate mental illness and perpetuating the delusion that it is anything but will be disastrous. The fact that they're succeeding at linking these two completely different groups with such shaky foundations (they involve sex. people think it's bad. bigot and phobia. etc) shows that there's no reason why they can't continue on with another completely different group. And when we look at the motivations behind it, this need and hunger to perpetuate a culture of victimhood, I feel there's every reason to believe they will continue to do so. And if they are successful twice, why not a third time?
