A pack of fags have done a research report and found that Latvia is the worst place to be gay in Europe, followed by Lithuania and Poland. Italy scored almost as low as those countries, too.
Malta, Belgium and the UK are the best places to be gay.
Malta did well because of its Gender Identity, Gender Expression and Sex Characteristics Act (GIGESC), which means that a Maltese person can claim to be a transvestite donkey-witch, and everyone else just has to accept it.
As a rough guide to how this was worked out:
1) teaching kids they should be gay, or trans, or whatever else, is good
2) teaching kids to be moral and that marriage is between a man and a woman is bad
That's the kind of criteria that was used.
Latvia ended up bottom because it has a "morality clause" in its education policy, whatever that means.
But times are changing-ish! Riga hosted a Europride degenerathon in 2015, and Vilnius' mayor wants to host one now, too.
