Most people don't seem to understand the most important reasons vaccines are used: to protect people who don't have a functional immune system. This includes newborn babies, and patients who are receiving immunosuppressants like transplant recipients or patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Say you're carrying Bordatella pertussis (Whooping cough) that's still in the incubation period, and you don't realise you're yet infectious, and then proceed to visit a relative who's having chemotherapy, you will kill them. Being vaccinated against B. pertussis will prevent you from carrying the infectious agent. It's not to protect idiots like you, it's to protect people who can't defend themselves.
