If Americans continue to refuse to support or pay back the war debt and profiteering, the government will put them in FEMA camps and force them to work off the national debt, if need be... If not that, other countries will invade to take what's owed to them.
More likely, the USA will continue doing as it does and sell out American land, property and wealth to people in those countries. Including but not limited to granting citizenship and giving them choice career opportunities.

America takes advantage of the dollar being the reserve currency, allowing it to print money without worrying about inflation. This is because countries throughout the world need dollars to buy oil, as oil can only be traded in dollars.
Furthermore, the federal reserve can print money and loan it to the federal government. Normally, this would cause inflation, but because the entire world needs dollars the effect is minimalized.
What this means is that the federal reserve could print all the money necessary to pay off any foreign debts at any time. This is also why we have such a high debt in the first place, because of our unique position in the world we can print money and export the inflation.

What else is new? This says nothing about the direction of the USA or what the consequences are of common men attempting to 'opt out' of the dollar. Usually in the form of tax resistance or bartering or otherwise maintaining capital/wealth in some other medium than dollars.
If the dollar stopped being the reserve currency, then what would happen? How are the consequences different than the situation above? Which is, the Americans being forced into some sort of liberty-liimiting agreement to pay off debts, either in higher taxes or other deals.
Here's the issue. I was talking about a post-drop of the dollar being the world reserve currency in the OP. That is, it was dropped and people continued their 'entitled' behavior (as most would call it) by destroying efficacy in their own dollar... basically saying they don't want to pay off the debt.
It would force such radical action from the government.
