Tell me about the Libertarian Party of the US.
Could they become a serious power in US politics?
>>74138093
no.
Basically they want to give 100% power to the rich people while all the poor people work 90 hour weeks to feed themselves.
>>74138175
Libertarians don't generally categorize people into such class struggle oriented strawman non-arguments. Rich people, poor people, same thing.
>>74138093
No because Libertarianism is for autist.
>>74138361
>zero government regulation on business
>no borders
There would be gladiator matches for clean water.
>>74138093
they have no chance of winning a presidential election
their purpose should be to spread ideas in an uncompromised form.
Gary Johnson going on Rogan, and Doug Stanhope's endorsement of Johnson are a couple promising signs.
The possibility that voters' distaste for both Trump and Hillary leaves the opportunity for Johnson (or Austin Petersen, depending on who gets the nom) to get some attention on election night.
Not any more.
They were fairly moderate and reasonable leading up to the Ross Perot thing.
What is shitty is that small parties' donors are majorly radicals which tends to lead small parties to radicalization.
They originally triangulated the other 2 parties on the 2D political spectrum making them prime for competition, but they radicalized losing them everything

Basically this as the whole party is literally just a meme
Let's say the current two-party system realligns. Assuming the constitutional framework remains the same and only two parties can have any relevant power, the third (minor) parties will go nowhere. The Republican party would definitely head in the direction of Trump, keeping aggressive militarism and a pro-corporate approach as well as a strong anti-immigrant policy. Anti-gunners and environmentalists need not apply. The ultra-religious aspects, however, would probably phase out. The Democrats' shift, however, would probably be more interesting. Even though Bernie's unlikely to win, there's no doubt toward his influence - they will probably become more akin to your far-left European social democrats. They'll surely keep their legalize-gay-marijuana-abortion-and-gun-control platform. Immigration is sure to be on their agenda. The Clintons' influence, however, will probably stay and you'll see an authoritarian, militaristic, corporatist policy as you would with the GOP.
If the constitution is amended though to allow for several parties in office, as in a European parliamentary democracy, then there's another story. The Democrats will split between the Bernie-esque social democrats (probably going to ally with the Green party) and Clintonites. The GOP will become completely Trump-like, while the evangelical Christians will leave for their own party (probably the Constitution party,) while finally the moderate, non-retarded coservatives (think Jeb, Romney, Kasich) will form a new party. There will definitely be a surge in support for the Libertarian or similar parties, particularly in states such as Vermont, New Hampshire, Minnesota, New Mexico, and several others. The American Freedom (3rd Position/NatSoc) Party is definitely going to gain support as well.
Ahahahahaha
