I'm in sciences, I graduated with my bachelors of specialism chemistry actually, and I can tell you there are definitely very little gay people in the sciences in total. Like I have met maybe 2 other gay guys in sciences and they both dropped out before graduating.
I think since most gays tend to be "artsy" and go into more female-dominated fields they tend not to be atheists or irreligious. Science-oriented people adjust to being societal outsiders from the day they are born, that's just how life works. When you place an artsy person in a situation where their sexual orientation causes them to be an outsider they collapse and religion can be a suitable coping mechanism. From that point they go into full-retard mode of wanting to accept every single person on the planet due to the rejection they encountered in the past. Being gay myself, I don't really have to tell you where I stand.
