New fag here. Wondering what /pol/ was like before the Trump meme and if you guys think it will ever go back to what it used to be.
>>
Better becuase you weren't here.
>>
/pol/ was good back when it was /n/. Even /new/ was okay since the cancer was contained.

Anyway, to answer your question, it had a lot more libertarians.

I wasn't here before then, but imagine it was just Americans making fun of Obama because he was a bad Uncle Tom.

Was very anti socialist as well, but thanks to Bernie, well, that hasn't changed much.

Honestly, I wish pol would focus more on showing how Bernie gets away with fucking everything and use #feelttebern against people who support Bernie as stupid faggots who fall for the Jew media every time.
>>
>>74127964
The Trump Train has no breaks. We can never go back, Kek wills it.
>>
It was a pretty happenin' place. :)
>>
The quality has somewhat gone down, for sure. No idea if it will change back. Depends on the brave shitposters who need to post less shit

Shoo shoo dirty Jew. Your tricks won't work here.
>>
>>74128292
I imagine it will go back to how it was. The election hoopla brought too many newfags who don't bother to lurk and hopefully they'll either go back or assimilate when it's over

Same but without trump threads and MAGA pictures. Every time a dindu died there was a big celebration and everyone would get together to watch the riots and party.
>>
It was less organized and there was more nigger hating.

I actually like the way nu-/pol/ is though. I can feel the meme magic flowing through me whenever I post here now. There's a very strong communal sense happening nowadays since we're all so unified under the Trump cause. Overall it feels more enjoyable.

/pol/ always had a community feel.

It was just horrible news after horrible news.

Take away any Trump related thread and what are you left with? Reddit and left-wing invaders attempting to get a foothold, Nigger did (enter crime here) thread #187475, Islam committed another atrocity thread #183624, Average person loses job/life/home because they weren't liberal enough and made a twitter post/statement that hurt peoples feelings thread. Shit was always a downer, there seemed to never be an end to the onslaught of horrible and tragic news that kept flooding this place.

Then Trump came and everything has done nothing but get better. Sure there was the odd Poland isn't cucked thread, or some right-wing party isn't taking some random shit thread every here and there, but since July there has always been a small beacon of hope in /pol/ that hasn't been seen in years.

It's actually making people patriotic again. People are coming out of the hellhole that the left has created and are saying that they are fucking finished with the PC bullshit that they have put up with for years. There's always at least one thread now where you can always find some libcuck or cuckservative getting their shit thrown back into their face as their buzzwords are losing power on national television.

The Trump "meme" is the best thing that has happened to /pol/ in years, and the best thing to happen in the United States for decades.
>>
>>74129196
yea, it was actually a smarter group back then.

don't get me wrong, /pol/ has some good, but it's also nastier now. there used to be an underlying stronger sense of optimism
>>

>>
>>74127964
Wait for the next happening after Trump loses. Trump will always be a meme here, sadly.
>>
>>74130157

I disagree, after shit like Paris, Brussels, Refugees, Trudeau, BLM etc. I think Trump and the rise of other Nationalist Populists are the ones who brought some optimism back

Before Trump it was a bunch of kids spouting cuck memes for like a year. So much so that the board was physically altered for like 2 months. Then before that it was your run-of-the-mill Hitler, Jew, and white-supremacist shitposting. The Zimmerman trial brought a break in the mold for a good couple months.

Had lots of Ron Paul memes in a sort of "I told you so" fashion.
Obligatory nigger hate thread.
Obligatory Holocaust isn't real thread. (Protip: it really isn't real).
Lots of threads about minor happenings.
Hitler worship threads.
Ben Garrison threads.
Typical "is x white?" / "redpill me on x" threads.
Fedora tipping threads.

Won't ever be the same though due to becoming too mainstream.
>>
>>74131309
I can't imagine the shitposting on here. I'm going to /refugee/ to /sci/ until it dies down. It might be a good thing for the board too, considering trump brought in a lot of politically illiterate newfags
>>
>>74130993
>Romanians were the original shitposters.
Nope, they started in mass and were gone as fast.
>>
It was exactly the same minus everything Trump. Frequent shitposting, obscure memes, Ron Paul posting (although Trump has destroyed his reputation on /pol/), basically everything against the mainstream. NatSocs were less common, and most of the time it was only for the memes.

/pol/ has always been kinda mediocre, with glimmers of brightness. Mostly just "I HATE [Insert Group here]" or "ARE X DEGENERATE?" or "MY LIBERAL COWORKER SAID Y" and some Ben Garrison/Bantz threads (though those were pretty funny).

Then something big happens and /pol/ gets awesome. Zimmerman, Michael Brown, Elliot Rogers, Paris, Belgium, and Trump.

Trump is just a glimmer of brightness that keeps on shining though, because it'll last for AT LEAST as long as the general election.

If Trump wins, then I am not sure what is gonna happen to /pol/.

Right now I'd say /pol/ is the best it's been (minus the influx of non-4chan newfags, but they should go away soon) in a long time. Zimzam and Trump are the two best things to happen to /pol/.

This place used to be better news source.

I think the people that posted alot of the better quality news articles left this place.

The flags are a double egded sword, I feel kinda bad that the newer users never got the experience of choosing their flag.

Overall the quality got worse but the lulz are more frequent.

Are you referring to when moot loaded up on new filters and turned off captchas? I haven't been on /pol/ that long but I remember that happening
>>
Eh, I came here about two years ago from /v/ and /fit/ and the quality tends to fluctuate. Trump is great because he focuses the board on a general topic rather than the usual shit that got posted in between happenings. /pol/ is basically /b/ with more swastikas and less tranny porn without a happening.
>>
>>74127964
/pol/ changes over time. dont expect it to be pro liberal for a while because there are more liberals in the west as president/prime minister/chancellor

while you can say we are all just a bunch of contrarians the reality is the ruling class tends to fuck up and they are to blame

so after merkel is dragged from her home and killed in the streets and hillary loses and the UK leaves the EU it might change but it would still take some time after all of that

It used to be Ron Paul proclaiming the end
Now it's Trump proclaiming the future
Both are wrong in the worst of ways
>>
It's been more or less the same, that's why I love it here.

The Chris Dorner manhunt, Ferguson chimpouts, and the Zimzam trial are my fondest memories. I think the Zimmerman trial was probably the golden age of /pol/ and I don't think anything will ever top it.

The 2012 election was when /pol/ was more libertarian and loved Ron Paul. Doom Paul and Moonbase Newt are all I can remember, that was around the time when I first started coming here.
/pol/ during the 2016 election is pretty much summed up like this:
>Fox news and the cuckservative media are acting like Jeb is the presumptive nominee
>guac man leads every single national poll
>the only people even remotely coming close to him are other establishment cucks like Walker and Jewbio
>/pol/ is nihilistic as fuck and tentatively backed Rand but knew that he was nowhere near as based as his father was
>out of fucking nowhere our prayers are answers and Trump comes in
>blows ¡Yeb! out of the water in the most hilarious way possible
I really think /pol/ is pretty united under Trump. I've got a feeling that it's just getting started and that November is going to be even more hilarious.
>>
The fucking nefaggotry itt. MILO you bastard. Reddit you shithole.
>>
Only major changes since the start of the board:
1. Ron Paul proclaiming the end times has been replaced by Trump proclaiming the good times
2. Australians used to be widely disliked and disrespected, now they're among the most beloved posters and Canada is the new local bitchboy because of Prime Minister Dudeweed
3. Meme magic has completely shifted the board's tone
