Their relatives and successors would take over and nothing would change, except the inexperienced ones would tank.
If we say that's not allowed and those directly connected to the heads also vanish, then a lot of major companies would crash and burn, along with their employees suffering. It isn't like if Mr Grump dies, his 1000 employees each get a million dollars. Also, without the heads of the businesses, crime would skyrocket for a while. No leader, no paycheck, no security, but those wares aren't disappearing, so people are going to take them.
The result would be the 1% would just be replaced by the runnerups after the initial chaos. Food company # 5 that was big but not big enough is now the biggest and becomes #1, same for news and media and X company. Even if we pretend the workers all got a split of their boss's money upon death, almost nobody who gets handed money like that knows how to manage it, and after people bought their dream bullshit, the money would end up back in the hands of the new people running shit
