Alright, I'm fucking tired from seeing so many people talk shit without knowing what's going on. As a lawyer, let me explain to you how this is not a coup.
Here in Brazil, the requisite for a president to be impeached is to commit a responsibility crime, which are listed in Brazil's federal constitution, as well as Law n. 1.079 of April 10th, 1950. In Dilma's case, she's being charged for what's considered a responsibility crime according to the Constitution's article 167, first paragraph. as well as article 3. items II, V, VI and VII of Law n. 1.079/50. The Worker's Party has been trying to nullify the impeachment process since it's very beginning, but the Supreme Federal Court has found the process to be regular, and it has been obeying the federal constitution - but now, before they cry "coup", let's remember that MOST of the Supreme Federal Court has been, in fact, appointed by the Worker's Party.
Now, the main argument used by the left is that "every president does that, so it's actually okay!!" which is ridiculous even at first glance, but allow me to elaborate. Here in Brazil, as is in most democratic countries I believe, one is found to be "innocent, until proven guilty by judicial verdict", as dictates item LVII of the federal constitution's article 5. Therefore, no one else did it, as no one else has even been trialed for that. For a trial to begin, ALL it takes is there for be "enough vestiges of authorship and
materiality", which references to a crime having occurred (materiality) and the investigated person having done it (authorship). So, yes, the process wouldn't even have started if there wasn't enough proof that she did it - there's more proof that she did it, than there is that anyone else did.
So, is this enough legal proof, or do you want more?
