Let's talk for a few seconds about overpopulation. Let's assume that we agree that overpopulation is a thing and that people should stop making as much babies as they are currently.
Thing is, who's gonna stop making babies? The smart people, right? The ones that can think to themselves "we're way too many people on this planet". The dumb people do not give a fuck about overpopulation, and they keep having kids and stuff.

What could happen is that there ends up being a division between two groups that have different vocabularies. For instance, one group will use the word "marriage" to refer to a homosexual couple, whereas another group will never use that word in that context.
