I also think the EU will go down. But in my opinion the EFTA alliance is the best way to keep the EU economy but not the EU politics. Every country could decide about their national security and how to handle for example the refugee crisis and a lot of countrys will even get richer. At the latest when the Brenner gets closed we won't have the "real" union anymore.
