My senior level Russian professor literally asked my class if anyone knew why Russians hated Jews.
A little back-story, I'm from the deep south and went to a university predominately for rich northeast liberals. My professor knew this, and knew that I was something of a radical traditionalist / reactionary.
Her answer? "Because the Jews killed Jesus and that is just plain awful". She looked me right in the eyes while smiling as she said this, knowing I would find that absolutely hilarious.
A Czech-bro and I abolutely lost it, everyone else freaked the fuck out (including two Ukrainian Jews in the room).
Professor was tenured, explained that it was how Russians "understood" their religious history to placate the class.
I have never laughed as hard in a class.

Americans don't really hate the French, but most buy into the meme that French people are rude, haughty and think Americans are all dumb fat rednecks. But every time I have visited France I have found the people hospitable and the country very beautiful, even though I don't speak French and probably come across as a dumb redneck American.
