Germany was going to lose WW2 no matter what. The U.S. presence was vital in preventing Soviet domination of Europe.
WW1 was a bit closer. Things were pretty back and forth there. We don't know how the Russians/Soviets would have done at that stage, but America showing up at the end effectively put the seal on it. It was like two dudes who are barely standing after a long fight and then a giant, fit, fresh out of the gym guy rocks up and just smacks one of them in the face.
