Because you don't use your brain thus rather than mentally exhausted you just do physical exercise.
I worked in both kind of jobs and physical work hands down is far better. After mental jobs you are so exhausted that you can't even bother doing your hobbies, after a physical work I could read a book, watch some lectures by ttc, listen to a podcast etc. After mental work I just want to lay down and blankly stare at some dumb tv. Couch potato meme is real.
