The brits, thanks to churchill, focused on developing an big 4 motor long range bomber for mass bombings in 1934. And they only attacked at night because they couldn´t get through germanys air defences. They just bombed civilians and were ordered to focus on workers homes. After the war, most of germanys industrial power was actually still intact, especially IG Farben.
Under no circumstances had the germans the goal to mass bomb civilians, especially not the brits. And you talking about Dresden and Hamburg.... Germanys 50 biggest cities got that treatment, not just these two. Thats what makes the difference, 1/4 of ALL german homes were destroyed and the people in germany think that this is normal during war....... not it wasn´t and germany wouldn´t have done that.
Look at france. German Military had the order to keep as much "culture" intact as possible and even were able to take Paris without a single bomb dropped. Warsaw refused every time knowing full well what will happen (even there germany didn´t have mass bombers, just Stukas).

I don´t even know where to begin. Mass bombing of people, like it was done against germany or japan, isn´t strategic bombing, nor is it meant to be as "inhumane as possible".
