With more knowledge and global perspective, you can argue that women are becoming more like men but lack the ability to temper their expectation and ego; this plus the fact that women support each other using positive feedback loops ("x is cheating with her by, it's okay for you too") basically means women are much more selective when it comes to dating (due to higher perceived self with) and less likely to compromise, which is essential for any long term relationship. This is why more and more women remain unwed since once they're pass prime marriage/child rearing age, their value in the dating market place drops exponentially. The ones that keep themselves for and healthy can protract this phase of a woman's life, but she only has a limited number of eggs and their quality drops ever more so.
