stuck between a rock and a hard place really, I sympathise for the general message of the original IRA and what not, but the majority of the conflict was propagated by religious/traditional fanaticism and fubar British counter insurgency operations more than anything else. It was a choice between the baby eaters in London and the baby eaters in Dublin, but at least the latter had an admirable cause tucked away under all the bull shit.
I'd still prefer being Irish over northern Irish if I had to be either, at least they have respectable identity still. Better to die under an Irish sky.
