CAPTCHAS

If you remove all the letters from the word and replace them with the J, the E and the W
What does that spell?
Coincidence I think not.
>>
It probably has something to do with identifying stores on Google Earth or something.

They need to identify street signs, storefronts and house numbers for their Streetview program. They give you verified photos of those, and occassionally throw in an unverified one. When enough people select the unverified ones too, it gets added to their database of verified images. That way, they crowdsource image recognition for ambiguous images that may or may not represent that which they are looking for

Its A deep learning AI that they are training to identify objects from 2D image data. In the future this neural net AI component might be embedded in self driving cars and other robotics. Similar to how the old text captcha was an AI that was trained to do optical character recognition to help in digitally archiving millions of old paper archives and books.
>>
>>73677906

My theory is it is training google in image recognition. Before street name signs it was door numbers. We're training skynet.
>>
What bothers me about captchas is how bullshit they are sometimes.
Sometimes you click on them and the picture disappears. You refresh and get a new captcha that asks you to identify signs and shit, you select the signs and it says you got it wrong. Now you're back at the disappearing pictures that you can't pass. You refresh and you get the signs again. You pick the signs and it says you're wrong.

Fucking stop.

Those are piss easy. I want them back.

You're supposed to ignore it and enter ''[random letters] fegarnont''. You don't have to enter the numbers and you can make a mistake while writing the word. It could be fegarnont or fegamont. Either one would let you post.

Captcha exists to ensure that only posters above a certain intellect can post. The smarter the group as a whole, the larger a percentage who'll be able to pass the test, meaning the dumb segment of a highly intelligent population have a higher chance of posting dumb shit. It's not though.
When people make fun of you it's because you lost a war against emus.
When people make fun of Indians it's because they shit on the streets.
When you ''make fun'' of us you're bringing up an American plant. I just don't see how that's offensive to me. Why don't you have anything better to throw at us?

Question:

What is the future of captchas?
The reason we have them in the first place is to avoid masses of spam-bots to flood forums. They are neccesary for that reason.

But, as computer technology advances, we get smarter and smarter programs. Bots will be able to read the warped letters in the captchas.
Hence, some websites have countered with using picture recognition captchas.
But how long until programs figure that out as well? What will be the next thing?
And how long until bots solve that as well?

And the question becomes; Where will it end if it ends at all?

Any takers on that question?

Up until about a year or so ago, my IP got 100% captchas, no free bypass. I have a static IP (with residental DSL) and run a DNS server on it, I don't know what bullshit reason they had to auto-ban such IP addresses, but it had been that way since 4chins first went with the new captcha. (I remember mootles saying that most people wouldn't even have to solve every time, well I sure did.)

The only reason that we don't have that here is so they can get those precious shekels for more 4chan passes. The captcha system was the best part about cripplechan.

>>
Why does Hiroshima Nagasaki continue to suck google cock?
>>
>>73688346
Ain't that a thing tho?
That there's programs that tries to "learn" from how humans solve captchas.

I mean; There's profit there. The ones who manage to create programs smart enough for picture recognition will earn a nifty sum of cash. But in doing so, also creating the next generation of smarter bots. Which means we'll need more advanced captchas again.

Rinse and repeat.

Central login to the "internet".
You login to Google and they decide if you are bot.
This is basically how it works right now, but currently it's built into the captcha system.
If you are logged into Google, you have a higher chance of being accepted by the "I'm not a robot" captcha, without choosing pictures.
Before this there were those fucking hard double generated inkblot captchas, where you had to write both words correctly. If you weren't logged in (or if you used privacy addons like Self Destructing Cookies), you got more of those.
