MUH SCIENTISTS

The world went through an ice age and other much more severe climate changes without human influence, if significant climate change is going to happen it's going to happen regardless of human influence. Maybe human influence is raising the temperature by a degree or two by who gives a fuck? We could be completely clean and green and there would still be climate change going on only maybe the average temperature in the summer would be 86 instead of 88. Go drive a hybrid and fuck off cuck.

5 years of the planet recovering from a global drop of 1.2 degrees Celsius and the industrial revolution picking up caused the planet to fluctuate much more wildly. We are reducing carbon emissions but that doesn't mean that we won't suffer from past events. Seriously, you people are blowing things out of proportion.

But what about population increases in the next 50 years? I agree that our current efforts to reduce warming are proving to be something, but the demands of the population on the industry will cause the planet to degrade in quality is something you might say. It's simple. Do your part as a beta with tainted genetic code to not have children. Simple as that. You know that mutations will still occur, but why force the meme? inb4 why slug more slug

Breh I don't care about climate change, it would be happening regardless of what humans did and do. Maybe without us the average temp and would only raise by 4 degrees instead of 5 or 6, but I really don't care. Significant climate change would and will happen regardless of humans and our influence in it is meaningless as without as it would still be significant. If you're really so concerned about climate change go to Asia and talk to the chinks and poo in loos cuck.

Events that last not long enough to show on averages allow for RECORD TEMPERATURE cherrypicking that gets drilled into your psyche.
They even put [ten-year record] and similar things hidden down in the ticker periodically so they can maintain some modicum of credibility while they try to convince you that it's unprecedented.

It says right on that page that human activity is contributing to global warming, itd still be happening without us, we're not causing it just exacerbating it. And seeing as the earth has gone through much more severe climate changes in the past I don't give a shit that were contributing. Any significant climate change today would happen regardless of human influence, just like how it has happened without us for millions of years. If it's bad with us, it'd still be bad without us so I don't give a fuck. I'm not gonna make drastic changes in an effort to reduce the average global temperature by 2 degrees.
>>
The real question is why care.

You will die soon, sooner than this shit will really begin to matter unless you live in a shithole like china or within a football field's length of a beach.

After you die, you literally will not exist, your investments will not matter, sensation will not matter, nothing will bring you back, why pick a lifetime of "responsible" living just for maybe a day or two of feelgood before you pass (if you even see it coming) when you could be hedonistic and actually enjoy the time on this earth you were damned with. I'm not even trying to be edgy, I just can't understand how people who aren't religious can really give a shit about the lives of people they will never meet (and who don't even exist yet). Someone please explain it to me without calling anyone a sociopath.
>>

I did watch it. If you can beat me in math up to calculus 2nd semester, then I'll concede. There's still a possibility resulting from the tiny battle of logic that I'd remain obstinate in defeat.
>>
>>73659660
This is possibly true, but even when you average the temperature data out you get a warming trend.

And the solar irradiation is pretty smooth - even averaging over only a month, the irradiance doesn't vary more than 0.1%, so even if it spikes from one day to the next that sure as hell doesn't explain a year-to-year average temperature rise.

Also while the average solar irradiance varies, it doesn't trend up or down, it just cycles. So again, it can't explain the upward trend in temperature.
>>
I thought /pol/ liked happenings. Why do you turn your back on the greatest actual happening of our time? All the great cities on the earth will wash away as the seas rise. clathrates will dissolve and warming will accelerate out of control. Arable land will vanish, worldwide droughts will occur, and the oceans will acidify and die. Global starvation, mass-migration and political chaos will crush human civilization.

You do know that they consider the slightest mental illness to cause someone to be "dumb," right? I'm going to ignore your whole comment because it's the work of a rambling intoxicant who can't type.

I'll add that dumb-smart is a descriptor used for people with scholarly knowledge but without the capability to practically apply it, those people who dedicate themselves to civil services like cancer or environmental studies just so they can justify breathing because they can't get laid or make friends otherwise. These types tend to make up the first 9 steps towards fixing some huge issue while the final one is usually made by someone who actually makes use of it, like the guy who developed penicillin. Stole 4 years of research from a couple other autistic fuckheads, performed the clinical trials and cashed in on it.

Appeals to authority are only fallacious when people are giving opinions on things outside of their discipline, eg. an actress giving medical advice.

When experts within a field have a consensus opinion, citing that opinion is a legitimate appeal to authority. This doesn't mean it's automatically correct, of course, but it doesn't mean that the person is arguing fairly and correctly and you need to address the cited expert's stance instead of crying about fallacies.
