To your original point, I freely admitted I became like the nigger-animals around me. My mother was always at work and my dad lived too far away at the time to make it practical for me to stay with him except on holidays.
The result was much like Donald Kellogg, I adopted to the lowest hanging cultural fruit which was around.
The difference is when exposed to white culture I recognized how ugly an animal I was. When I was 15 my mom sent me to live with my dad because I was out of control. He lived in a middle class class neighborhood and socialized with other middle class whites. Slowly, over the course of years, I unlearned the violent nigger-culture I had learned in the streets around my mother's apartment. Then when I turned 17 I traveled all around the country and saw how other people lived. I was able to deprogram that previous culture I had learned almost entirely.
Of course I can never totally erase that time of my life or those experiences but I've never once had to rely on them to guide my actions since I moved to this rural almost all white town.
I'm thankful I got out of that place. So many people I grew up with are dead or in prison.
