Because at the core of my beliefs, family is at the center. It gives me meaning. I see very liberal people, friends even, who do drugs, have sex with multiple men/women, and it saddens me, because they have no values. To them, popularity is their only value. It's as if their social values in life have been stripped from them and replaced by democracy; they try to be popular so they get the vote. It reminds me of the city; I have to turn off my gullibility, because I'm used to assuming that people are honest when they're talking to me. The disconnect in liberal society is apparent, because everyone's trying to either sell me something, so they pretend to be my friend, or they try to seek validation from me, so they act very vane.
It doesn't remove the personal responsibility in my life; it actually makes it stronger, because I'm holding the weight of the world on my shoulders, trying to hold it up for the liberals in hopes that they see me struggling and put their arms up as well.

I have lurked on 4chan since mid 2006, but have only recently become an avid user of /pol/. While this board does have its share of idiots, I am impressed by the number of people who post here with well read, intelligent, reasoned opinions. Frankly, it has helped me to know that the republic may not be as lost as I had once feared.
