>Nicknamed the Satan 2, the RS-28 Sarmat will be the follow-on to the Soviet developed, NATO designated R-36M missile, which is aging and therefore being replaced. With its huge payload, the RS-28 will be able to destroy an entire country the size of France or the state of Texas.

Are they bullshitting and just waving their dick or are they for real?

What the fuck, is nuclear war an actual possibility in the near future? Jesus..
>>
>>73626478
probably not, but whats the point of having nukes if your shits old.
>>
>>73626478
>is nuclear war an actual possibility in the near future
It was always a possibility. Don't think that just because the Cold War "ended" that nuclear war just fell off the table. Hell, there was almost a nuclear incident in the 90's because of fucking Norway.

BrahMos a short range ramjet supersonic cruise missile.

>It is the world's fastest anti-ship cruise missile in operation. The missile travels at speeds of Mach 2.8 to 3.0

>A hypersonic version of the missile, BrahMos-II, is also presently under development with speed of Mach 7 to boost aerial fast strike capability.

This is the P-270 Moskvit impact on a cruiseship.

I'm sure it's a big payload but a single nuclear device capable of doing that is completely impossible. Although it probably could puke out irradiated particles over an area the size of France

The very largest nuclear missiles can destroy large cities. There is no way a single missile can destroy an entire large country, unless you have a very loose definition of destruction.
>>
>>73628870
Satán 2 is able to care 15 warheads with a hit of 40 MEGAtons each.
So I tried to simulate a impact as big as that but the of limit of the webpage was 100Megatons. And 17000km^2 were affected .
So multiplying this x6 leave us in my opinion with making Switzerland or the Netherlands a crater, not France.

And nobody actually loads warheads that large anymore because they are expensive and completely unnecessary with modern guidance systems.

It's just stupid.

They have countless cool missiles.
Remember the Russian cruiser Moskva?
Nicknamed "carrier killer"

That nickname is rather serious and stems from one part of it's ornament, the 16 P-500 Bazalt or P-1000 Vulkan anti-ship missiles.

The P-500 Bazalt is a turbojet-powered, supersonic cruise missile. Its GRAU designation is 4K80
The P-1000 is the modern version.

>The missiles were intended to be used in salvos; a submarine/ship could launch eight in rapid succession, maintaining control of each through a separate datalink.
>In flight the group could co-ordinate their actions; one would fly to a higher altitude and use its active radar to search for targets, forwarding this data to the other missiles which remained at low altitude.
>The missiles were programmed so that half of a salvo would head for a carrier target, with the rest dividing between other ships.
>If the high-flying missile was shot down, another from the salvo would automatically pop up to take its place.
>All of the missiles would switch to active radar for the terminal phase of the attack.

The P-700 Granit (NATO reporting name SS-N-19 Shipwreck) was partially based on the P-500, but with a significantly modified airframe. The avionics, however, are very similar.
>>
>>73628358
Greatly. But I assume they mean key targets or something. So you could hit a lot of major military installations with a single warhead, ports, and so on. Essentially crippling most major vital infrastructure.
