I need your help, /pol/. Anyone who helps me will be rewarded handsomely with a drawing at their request. The only restriction is your imagination. I have a paper on why I'm for criminal rehabilitation soon, and it's supposed to be setup like this: five paragraphs with an opener, one of the three body paragraphs containing a counterpoint, and a closer. It also needs at least five credible sources of websites with facts and points I can cite and write into this. I need you guys more than ever

As someone with a masters in Criminal Justice, I would write against criminal rehabilitation. It'd be much easier to support, and your liberal professor will love you for it.

>criminal rehabilitation
This makes no sense to me, once a criminal always a criminal.

I don't understand the desire to rehabilitate criminals or even punish them.

Just give the death penalty to all criminals whether small or big.

Also, ignore my first post because I'm baked and read your OP wrong. Arguing for rehabilitation is easy because the alternative is incarceration. There are plenty of studies (google it) that tend to show that incarceration does not work for many different reasons and that recidivism is more likely than not in serious offenses. You can also argue that privatized prisons are a detriment to society because they encourage incarceration over rehabilitation.

What do you need help with?

OP here, pretty much everything I listed. I'm starting from scratch on this

You probably don't have a lot of time. I've read this book and it goes through different theories and history.

But rehabilitation is the belief that people convicted can change. Some people will not, but some people do. You need to target those willing to change and help people that won't believe it's possible. One of the problems is that people who are convicted face stereotypes in seeking employment. So I guess looking up figures of how many convicted get turned down for a job position is a good figure to have.

One topic you should bring up is Jeremy Bentham's Utilitarian beliefs and his panopticon prsion design.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panopticon
Read Michel Foucault's Discipline and Punish and talk about Panoptcism
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panopticism
Talk about power and describe it what is power? how is it used? How does power manifest itself?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machiavellianism
Talk about what Justice is how is it defined? At its core what is it?
Is this a College paper or High school?

Here OP read part 2 and part 4.

But what is rehabilitation though? Rehabilitation can be achieved through discipline Regimenting prisoners lives and keeping them to a schedule can help immensely.
