The economy has to go into recessions, idiot. It's normal. Our currency is worthless and our industry is practically non-existent. Any measure to put us on the right track is going to "crash" our economy.

That's basically what they're doing already. There is more "money owed" than actual money in circulation. Our economy works on credit and everybody not paying for everything in cash (wages, taxes, any large purchases) are really just trading ownership of debt. There is almost no actual wealth changing hands anymore, everyone pays off their debts by taking on more debt, particularly banks.
In other words, if people could no longer take out loans to pay off their loans, everybody suddenly loses all of their funds and you lose ownership of almost everything other than the clothes on your back.
We're fucked, but the faster this is addressed the softer the blow will be.
