Russia is a beautiful country with a deep and rich history, lots of amazing things to visit and see. The language barrier wont be a problem. Dress appropriately (check the weather) and be respectful. Americans tend to have opinions on everything and love to share them despite never being prompted to do so. Understand even the most low level serf slav you see has a better education than you, their country just fucked them economically.
