Why do my canuck friends seem to ignore this damn "tragedy".
Did your faggot PM made any statement.Or he is still busy licking some rapefugee BBC.

I for one am pretty sad because all that vegetation goes down the drain.(i know i know its a cycle and shit like this happens..but still the proportions..)

Any canuck friend here care to share his opinion about this mess? How are you affected?
>>
>>73425120
I'm not affected at all.

There isn't much that can be done, and the media has no where to report from. Resources in the front line need to go to firefighters, not reporters.

It's bad all of the houses burned down, but they were all newly built and have mortgages, so the banks make them have insurance for this kind of thing.
>>
>>73425120
Seems like they should have done some controlled burning ahead of time.
And rich people need to fucking quit living in forests, firefighters shouldn't have to die for their real estate.
>>
>>73425120
its good they spent all their money on "syrian" "refugees"
>>
>>73425120
I'm about 4 hours away, near Cold Lake, it is unreal hot for this time of year and incredibly dry. There is no rain in the forecast and winds are mostly up around 40km/hr during the day. They won't be putting it out anytime soon.
A few families from the Mac are here, some have cabins in this area, one family I talked to is starting their boys in school here, they said they have nothing to go back to.
>>
>>73425120
not affected and i dont care either
>>
>>73426570
It's crown fires, on a flat landscape. Not very suitable for controlled burns.

>>73426615
>spend one billion on refugees
>that's it, we're broke

Firefighting isn't handled by the feds anyway.
>>
My brother ran into a Newfy at the gas station yesterday in edmonton. Dude just broke down in the store, sobbing saying he lost everything, said it was extremely uncomfortable. He bought the dude a sandwich

>>
>>73427311

"500 000 barrels a day are off due to the fire".
I expect that to be big.
Damn all the country will be affected if this continues .
>>
>>73426570
I don't think you understand just how much forest we have here on the west coast it is nearly impossible not to live innawoods
>>
>>73427682
And all Trudeau has done is make a May the fourth be with you joke at the press conference then offer his condolences
>>
>>73427068
you will spend more

and you will import more

and they and their kids will be wards of the state for decades

not to mention the costs of monitoring them for terror, Belgium has said they cant even afford to track all their terror suspects
>>
>>73427435
1600 square km. The winds were carrying it south, but have switched to the north. So the fire isn't spreading as much because the northern part is already more burnt.

>>73427682
It's a temporary halt, for a few weeks max. Current oil reserves are so high this wont be a big deal.

When the price of oil per barrel is quoted, it's for oil next month. Everything is expected to be settled by then.

Is anyone else not suprised that it was started in a rich part of town

Daily reminder that the first step to destroying a country is to turn against the people that pay for the country

Alberta is the backbone for almost all of canada's economy, and now I see posts saying, "WHO CARES ABOUT THE RICH"

They people who pay the most amount for canada have been so demonized that they would rather see their fellow country man burn

this is essentially propaganda 101

Do you actually think any rich person will want to move or invest in canada now? Why should they if all they see on things like social media that those people should all burn alive

Canada really is going to become an absolute shithole

I can't wait for the communism to kick in

You ignorant fucking ass holes just don't get it. You can't use hate to fight this fire, only love will defeat it. By trying to extinguish the flame we are only creating more fire and giving it more reason to burn. We need to show this fire that Canadians are not afraid, and welcome the fire to our homes. Soon the fire will realize how tolerant we are and be truly grateful to us, and start contributing and enriching us back.

They have big conifer forests. But the fires you usually hear about are brush fires around LA.

They can get bad fires in the north, but there's more natural barriers there.

Two years ago oil was $90 a barrel. Now it's $45. There's been more economic effects from the reduction is price, than a short term stoppage.

Oil reserves are at an all time high too. This isn't a big deal.

This isn't a reduction in production capacity, infrastructure hasn't been damaged.

Russia offered a few water bombers. But those don't really help against a crown fire like this. There's way too much oil in a fully grown pine to put it out the fire with water.

This is going to require some rain and low winds to slow down.

>500 000 barrels a day are off due to the fire

Meanwhile, as of May 7th, as much as one-quarter (1.15 million barrels per day) of Canada's oil production (4.6 million barrels of oil per day) is off-line due to the fire in the heart of Canada's oil sands area in Alberta. The fire is projected to double in size today and could last for weeks.

Those are the new numbers.
