It is degenerate if your smartphone becomes your ''second life''. I got a phone on my 11th birthday, and I only used it for an hour or so before I never touched it again. I find it weird how people can get so addicted to it. Only use I could maybe find out of it would be that you can listen to music, but I don't want to be that guy who has earbuds in his ear all the time. I prefer face to face interaction as well, OP, I miss it to some extent in fact. It's also annoying when people constantly play games on it during breaks or take pictures of what is written down by teachers.
