It now is 36.5%, that is the lowest bracket. Anything between 19k-55k is taxed at 42%, and anything over that at 52%.

I'm talking about big houses and new cars that you don't really need, not to mention all the luxury items that people also buy on credit (newest smartphones, gadgets, flashy clothing, shit like that). It all grows interest and you have to keep working in order to keep up with the huge monthly payments that just keep on adding up. If you ease up on your work, you're fucked.
There's nothing wrong having some debt (most people do), but the way many Americans seem to do it is absolutely fucked. You get fired at the wrong time and you're fucked.
