I suppose you're referring to the Islamic "invention" of algebra and much of early chemistry-- the arabic scientists who came up with that shit were generally former christians who were forced to convert or be killed. After they died off, Islam did not cultivate new geniuses to carry on their work, and much that didn't glorify allah enough was burned and lost forever.
