That's not ACA, son, that's the soaring cost of healthcare, and there was something called the Cadillac Tax that economists think is ESSENTIAL but got shot down by special interests. The thing is, boomers are going to bankrupt the medical system, you and I are going to pay. The government wants to tax corporate medical benefits. It's going to happen. Corps do NOT like being taxes on benefits. So they pass on the cost to the employee. You will miss your $75 copay. Now my story.

Here's the circlejerk: medical students are now required to go into a half a million dollars in debt for school. They graduate with this crazy debt and expect bonkers pay so they can live like doctors e.g. rich faggots. So hospitals charge more, and rising waters lift all boats. Insurance companies join the party and you have the cost of medical care far outpace inflation. And by far I mean over 10% per year. It WILL collapse. I just hope it happens soon.

You're pretty smart. I made 110k base, bonus and stock took it to about 130. But I live in the bay area of California so I'm treading water. I drive a 1997 Tacoma because it's rock solid and I'm not into conspicuous consumption. My house is only 1400 square feet and is now work like 800k. I cannot get within 40 miles of my place of employment for less than $2Million for a house. It's insane. I should probably move to a flyover state.

Everything I said about boomers bankrupting the system, medical care inflation over 10% year over year, premiums going to explode, and medical tourism being the back breaker are all true.
I was sort of hoping people in the field would chime in. Companies are pushing HSA (Healthcare Savings Accounts) and other strange plans so you can "save up" for big operations.
