That is not how Germany saved half of Europe from communism.
Stalin was approaching Germany in 1944. The Germans knew the Brits and Americans wanted to land in France. Instead of easily repelling the invasion on the beaches as planned, Hitler had the selfless idea to stage a "we didn't really know they would invade in Normandy" history ploy, in order to allow the Allies to advance from the West.
The Germans goal was to unify the German forces with the Americans and Brits and then role all the tanks together and push towards Moscow. But Eisenhower was too liberal to agree to this. Fuckwit. Biggest mistake Eisenhower ever made.
