For example, an engineering professor would actually be off at an engineering job easily making over 6 figures if he was better than his class mates. But he wasn't. The classes that university students are interested in taking are the classes that universities need to hire faculty to teach. If there are one hundred business students and nine hundred liberals arts students, there must also be nine professors of liberal arts disciplines for every one business professor.
